My Big, Hairy Audacious Goal for Auditory Processing Disorder (APD)

In 2008, I realized that it was hard for people with auditory processing problems to find professionals who felt comfortable and capable of dealing with their concerns. So, I collected the names, addresses, and details about providers that I put into an online searchable map that you can find here: https://apdsupport.com/apdmap
There were a total of 250 providers, at that time, providing these services.
After the map’s most recent update in 2019, we officially have 300 professionals listed.
Based on conservative statistics, stakeholders agree that approximately 5% of the population struggle with APD. Also, there are 1.5 billion English speakers in the world. So, approximately 75 million people need to see one of these 300 professionals to help them move forward in their lives.
Staggering.
For this reason, I have created a big, hairy, audacious goal for myself to double the number of professionals working with APD in the next 3 years. Not just people who do some tests and give a diagnosis without clarity- but audiologists who can confidently evaluate and treat APD
